History, Part 4 - The Organ
The First Presbyterian Church dedicated its pipe organ with appropriate ceremonies Wednesday, November 6, 1935, at 8:00 P.M. The dedication wrote "accomplished" on another dream of the Presbyterians who had worked and dreamed of an organ for three decades.
The organ was presented to the congregation by E. E. Huff, chairman of the organ committee and received by Rees Dews, chairman of the Board of Trustees. Mrs. Dana Lewis Griffith, Oklahoma City appeared on the organ in concert at the dedication. A eulogy by Mrs. A. S. Gray honored Mrs. Ellen Fisher who had given $1000 in a legacy toward purchase of the organ. William Harberts was pastor at the time of the dedication.
The dedication program contained this inscription:
"This Organ was made possible through the efforts of the women of the First Presbyterian Church and other donors."
